§ 4-10-502. Definitions.

The following words, terms and phrases when used in this chapter shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

Bar shall mean an area which is devoted to serving of alcoholic beverages and in which the service of food is only incidental to the consumption of such beverages.

Civic Center means any enclosed structure, building or portion thereof located in the City of Irvine Civic Center at #1 Civic Center Drive.

Food service counter area means a bar or counter area which is primarily devoted to the service of food and where the service of alcoholic beverages is only incidental thereto. Where the gross receipts from the sale of food is more than 50 percent of the total gross receipts from the bar or counter area, it shall be conclusively presumed that the bar or counter area is primarily for the service of food.

Motion picture theater means any theater engaged in the business of exhibiting motion pictures.

Park and recreational facility means community parks, neighborhood parks, the Orange County Great Park, open space preserves, trails, including structures thereon, and all other lands and facilities under the ownership, operation or maintenance of the City that are utilized for public park or recreational purposes, whether passive or active.

Smoking means the combustion of any cigar, cigarette, pipe, or any similar article, using any form of tobacco or other combustible substance in any form.

Workplace means any enclosed area of a structure or portion thereof intended for occupancy by business entities for industrial, manufacturing, office or other business purposes.
